Welcome to the 8th Intercity Youth conference which will be held
on 9-11 October 2019 in Helsinki at the event venue Tiivistämö.
The programming of the Conference is going on. The main theme of the Conference is Participatory Co-operation and it will be discussed for example by Doctor Tomi Kiilakoskifrom the Finnish Youth Research Network and Leena Suurpää from the Red Cross Finland. One of the international speakers is Ufuk Kâhya (NED) alderman from the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Mr Kâhya is going to inspire participants at the topics of development of talents of youngster. Two youngsters at the podium play a crucial role in the presentation and will illustrate his speech.
The main program will also include keynote speeches on topics such as EU and Youth proactivity, Climate Change and Sociocultural Interactions, as well as plenty of study visits and workshops. Study visits and work shops will concern widely participatory youth work, with great dimensions. Along with Finnish workshop organizers there will be organizers from Belgium, Slovenia, Lithuania and many more places.
As a host city Helsinki Youth Services wants to introduce for example it’s Environmental Education Unit. The unit will be holding workshops on the topics such as environmental proactivity and city culture development by youth. Environmental and Adventure education is the main purpose of the Environmental education unit.
Circus Magenta, which does several co-opearation projects with muncipalities and NGO’s for youth, will be showing us ways to promote social inclusion, helping those most in need seize centre stage in their own lives. Magenta works with disabled children, youth at risk, families in crisis, refugees, the elderly and anyone at risk of social exclusion.

The early bird registration fee 150€ is valid until August the 30th, 2019. After the date the registration fee will be 210 €. The registration fee includes the Conference program and indicated meals during the conference (coffee/tee, lunch, dinner).
