The study visit in ‘s-Hertogenbosch is finally here!
The aim of the study visits and job shadowing within the InterCity youth YOUTH WIN project is for youth workers, coordinators and managers to gain new knowledge and experience through peer learning.
In this Study visit Swedish (Södertälje/KEKS), Finnish (Helsinki/Kanuuna), Italian (Cinisello Balsamo) and Greek (KEDITH) youth workers visited De Poort youth center in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands to find new working methods and ways to work that lead to concrete improvements in their own organisations.
De Poort youth center organizes activities for and through young people and believes that all young people must be able to grow in a safe environment, with sufficient opportunities for development in order to actively contribute to society.
De Poort youth center is an organization that organizes more than 400 activities annually for young people.
The lifestyle challenge is a project that we have for 3 years. During this year we organise sport activities for youngsters. Besides that, they can participatie as a team in an obstacle run. They get a discount for it, but in return they have to commit to the project. This means they have to participate in a weekly training during 3 months. Every week they get a theme related to an healthy lifestyle. After the three weeks they parcipate in the obstacle run. Every year we have 10 – 20 youngsters who work towards an healthier lifestyle this way.
